No, it- it's really not a big deal, you just kinda have to learn to restructure your life around it, including comedy.
Okay, so how does it affect the way that you interpret comedy?
So a side effect of understimulation is that your brain is constantly and more often than others' active. You're always thinking, you're always analyzing, you're always trying to problem solve. Because of exactly that, normal comedy and normal humor is a bit predictive, and doesn't really land with people with ADHD.
So what does land with people with ADHD?
Stark, abrupt chaos. Because it cannot be predicted, nor calculated.

Every time I get groceries I’m always appalled at how little you can get for like, $20. I was making banana pudding so I needed vanilla wafers but the brand name nilla wafers cost $4 a box. The minimum wage in my state is $7.25/hr. My friend put it really well when he said “imagine you work for an hour and someone hands you two boxes of nilla wafers and said ‘actually this is a bit more than what I owe you’”
How are some of y’all missing the point so bad. “Shop at aldi instead” “make your own food” “don’t buy brand name” “don’t buy unhealthy processed food” It’s not about the box of cookies. This is about how minimum wage pays peanuts and has stagnated for 12 years while the cost of living keeps growing. No one wants your financial advice about how to survive on beans and rice and frozen veggies. The smartest grocery list in the world is not gonna help you budget your way out of poverty. Please get a grip for the love of god

Remember how the donner party starved in a part of the US that had been cultivated as a food forest by the Crow and Cheyenne people’s for thousands of years.
A tribe (tribes?) actually came across the party fairly early on in their stay at the lake, if I remember right. They attempted to help them and the Donner party decided the best way to handle this was to shoot at them.
Until now the Native American perspective has been left out of the telling of the Donner tragedy, not because the wel mel ti did not remember the pioneers, but because they were never asked, or perhaps were not ready to share. Their oral tradition recalls the starving strangers who camped in an area that was unsuitable for that time of year. Taking pity on the pioneers, the northern Washoe attempted to feed them, leaving rabbit meat and wild potatoes near the camps. Another account states that they tried to bring the Donner Party a deer carcass, but were shot at as they approached. Later, some wel mel ti observed the migrants eating human remains. Fearing for their lives, the area’s native inhabitants continued to watch the strangers but avoided further contact. Additional context from the above commenter: the Pawnee did attack them earlier on the journey so they just sorta assumed all the natives were the same. Though, to be fair to the Pawnee, the migrants ate a guy.
